# Account & Access
## How to get access?
To get started, simply [sign up for an account here](https://www.smabbler.com/beta).
Fill in the early access form. We will send you your login details by e-mail.
Upon registration, you will receive **6 Graph Capacity Units (GCU)** for free, valid for **7 days**. You can view the expiration date of your trial and your remaining GCU balance in the **Subscription** section of the **Account** page. After the trial period ends, you must purchase additional GCUs to continue using your graph models.

If you purchase GCUs before your trial period ends, any unused free GCUs will be preserved and added to your paid balance.

## How to check and buy GCU?
* Go to the **Account** section in the Smabbler Portal.\
You can access it by clicking your user name located in the bottom-left corner of the screen. This opens a dropdown menu where you can select **Account**.
* In the **Buy GCU** section, choose how many packages of 6 GCU you want (1 to 100) and pay in the embedded Stripe form. Stripe e-mails you the invoice. Buying GCUs removes the expiry date of your balance.

* In the **Subscription** section, you'll see your **Remaining GCU** balance and expiration date (if the GCUs are from the free trial).
* After you pay, reload the **Account** page to see the new balance.
### GCU Usage Basics
* **1 GCU = 10 minutes** of one active model. Two active models use 1 GCU every 5 minutes.
* A **sleeping** model uses a fifth of that: 1 GCU lasts about 50 minutes.
* Activating a model uses no GCUs, and an inactive model uses none.
* **Analyzing a file** uses 3 GCU per 100 MB of the file.
* The portal warns you when 10% of your GCUs are left while a model is active, and 2 days before your GCUs expire.
When your balance reaches zero or your GCUs expire, your subscription becomes **inactive**, and all your models and your API key are deactivated. After you buy GCUs, the API key works again and you can activate your models.

## How to change password?
Password change can be performed in the authentication view. If you are logged in, please first log out and follow these steps:
* Click on the **Log in** button.
* Next, click on the **Forgot your password?** button.
* Enter your email address and click on the **Reset my password** button.
* You should receive an email with a reset code within 5 minutes.
* Enter the code from the email into the **Code** field, provide your new password and click on the **Change Password** button.
* Now, you can log in with your new password by clicking **Sign in**.
